Video Game · The Behemoth · 2017
A giant purple space bear — named, simply, Bear — crashes into the world and takes Horatio’s son. Horatio is a blueberry farmer. Horatio is now extremely angry.
Pit People is a turn-based, co-operative adventure game from The Behemoth, the studio behind Castle Crashers and BattleBlock Theater. Hand-drawn, relentlessly absurd, and narrated throughout by a voice that will not stop editorialising, it sends a growing squad of misfits across a randomised, broken landscape.
Two Shinra tracks were licensed by The Behemoth for the game, both used as battle music. He is credited under Composers on the title, alongside Patric Catani.
It is a clean example of what an owned catalogue is actually for: a studio hears a track, licenses it directly, and ships it — no publisher in the chain, no clearance delay, no renegotiation before release.
